Senior Nursing Home Management Opportunity – Southampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nursing Home Manager / Registered Manager / Care Home Manager to take overall responsibility for the leadership, performance and quality of an established care service in Southampton, Hampshire.

We are looking for an exceptional Nursing Home Manager or experienced Care Home Manager with a proven track record of successfully managing a high-performing service and delivering excellent outcomes for residents, families and staff.

Nursing experience is advantageous but not essential.

The Role

This is a senior leadership position offering the successful Nursing Home Manager genuine responsibility for the overall performance of the home.

You will lead from the front, develop a strong management and care team, maintain excellent regulatory standards and ensure residents receive outstanding, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full operational responsibility for the home as Nursing Home Manager / Registered Manager.
• Lead, motivate and develop the management, nursing and care teams.
• Maintain high standards of care, safety, governance and resident experience.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with CQC regulations and legislation.
• Oversee care planning, medication, safeguarding, audits and risk management.
• Manage recruitment, retention, supervision and staff development.
• Build excellent relationships with residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.
• Manage budgets, staffing, resources and occupancy.
• Drive quality improvement and ensure the service continues to develop.
• Provide strong leadership during CQC inspections and external reviews.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Nursing Home Manager, Care Home Manager or Registered Manager who can demonstrate:

• Significant senior management experience within a nursing or care setting.
• A proven track record of managing a home with a Good or Outstanding CQC rating.
• Strong knowledge of CQC compliance, governance and quality assurance.
• Excellent leadership and people-management skills.
• Experience managing complex operational and staffing challenges.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A passion for delivering exceptional, person-centred care.

Nursing Background

You do not need to be a Registered Nurse to apply.

A nursing qualification or clinical background would be advantageous, particularly where candidates have experience within nursing, dementia, complex care or specialist services.
