1:1 Classroom Assistant

We are currently hiring for a Classroom Assistant to join a Primary School based in Chester-le-Street. This role is to support Key Stage One and Two children on a 1:1 and small group basis, providing additional support for those who need it. The school prides itself on being an inclusive and encouraging environment for all. Providing engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum.

Main Responsibilities:

• Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
• Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
• Inspire children to engage in lessons consistently
• Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies

Requirements or Skills:

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
• Patience and a calm approach to assisting others
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
