Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Wakefield that is looking to recruit a passionate Drama Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication and interaction needs
• Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions
• Use drama, storytelling, role play, music, and creative activities to engage and motivate pupils
• Support pupils to develop communication, emotional regulation, and social skills
• Encourage confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider SEN team to support individual learning plans
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Who We're Looking For

We welcome applicants who have:

• A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Theatre Studies, or a related subject
• Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
• A calm, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Previous school experience isn't essential—we're looking for graduates with transferable skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
