TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND academy based in Mansfield, supporting children and young people aged 3-19 with severe, complex and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The academy provides a broad, challenging and relevant curriculum designed to enrich pupils' lives and prepare them for the future, offering a happy and inspiring environment where children thrive and enjoy their learning.

The academy is looking to take on an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available on a long-term and day-to-day supply basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support pupils with a range of complex learning needs, working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging activities, encourage independence and provide tailored support to help every child reach their full potential.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Relevant qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent are desirable

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly severe learning difficulties (SLD), complex needs or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)

• Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of pupils with additional needs

• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• Patience, resilience and adaptability when supporting pupils with a range of complex needs
