Head Chef

Salary: £40,000-£50,000 (48-hour contract) Role type: Full-time, permanent (48 hr contract)

About the Role

We are seeking a Head Chef to lead our client's kitchen and deliver an unforgettable, relaxed yet elegant dining experience. This role centres on producing a rosette-standard diverse à la carte menu, supported by a specials board updated daily, showcasing exceptional seafood creations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day kitchen operations to deliver rosette-standard cooking
• Cook and oversee production for a diverse à la carte menu
• Create and execute dishes for a daily specials board, with a focus on seafood-led specials
• Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
• Manage stock, reduce waste, and ensure efficient kitchen operations
• Train, develop, and supervise kitchen teams to deliver service-ready excellence
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (including Safer Food practices)
• Collaborate with front-of-house to maintain seamless guest experiences from service to plating

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a quality-led, rosette-style operation
• Strong skills in seafood cookery, menu development, and seasonality
• Ability to create compelling specials while maintaining consistency across the à la carte
• Strong leadership, calm under pressure, and a commitment to high service standards
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering an elevated yet relaxed dining experience
