TeacherActive is looking for a caring and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2 at a lovely school in the NG9 area. You’ll work with children with a range of needs, including ASD, SEMH and complex SEND. Regular supply work is available, with the potential for a long-term placement for the right person.

What the role involves

• Supporting pupils in lessons and throughout the school day.

• Taking time to understand each child’s needs, interests and what helps them engage.

• Adapting activities and support so pupils can access learning.

• Helping children develop confidence, relationships and emotional regulation.

• Working closely with teachers, other staff and SENCOs to provide consistent support.

What we’re looking for

• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD, SEMH or complex needs.

• A patient, caring and empathetic approach.

• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

• Confidence responding to individual needs and changing situations.

• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
