What We're Looking For

  • Experience within children's residential care, including leadership or management responsibilities
  • Experienced Registered Manager or an ambitious Deputy Manager ready to progress into Registered Management
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to recruit, motivate, develop and manage a high-performing team
  • Ability to build effective relationships with local authorities, commissioners, external agencies and other stakeholders
  • Commitment to therapeutic and trauma-informed practice
  • Resilience and confidence managing complex situations
  • Strong focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a brand-new two-bed children's home supporting young people with complex needs
  • Establish the home from the outset, creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment
  • Build the culture of the service and recruit, develop and inspire a high-performing team
  • Ensure consistently high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance
  • Promote therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches throughout the home
  • Lead staff supervision, development and performance management
  • Ensure care planning, safeguarding, risk management and regulatory requirements are maintained to a high standard
  • Manage budgets, resources and occupancy effectively
  • Monitor quality, outcomes and service performance to drive continuous improvement
  • Build strong working relationships with Derby City Council, commissioners, external agencies and other stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with a supportive cluster of homes, sharing expertise and best practice
  • Create a child-centred environment where young people feel safe, valued and supported to thrive
  • Promote positive outcomes across wellbeing, education, personal development and independence
