Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Wakefield & surrounding areas
Start Date: September / ASAP
Salary: £90 – £120 per day
Contract: Day-to-Day, Short-Term & Long-Term

TeacherActive is working with a range of primary schools across Wakefield and surrounding areas who are looking for confident and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistants for day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities.

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant may be responsible for:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across KS1 and KS2

• Providing PPA and teacher absence cover

• Leading small-group interventions

• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining routines

• Working closely with class teachers and senior leaders

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• HLTA qualification or relevant equivalent experience

• Previous UK primary school experience

• Confidence delivering planned lessons

• Strong classroom and behaviour management

• Experience supporting KS1 and/or KS2

• Good safeguarding knowledge

• A flexible and reliable approach
