Are you a resilient and 'keen to get stuck in' SEN Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships with pupils?

Are you confident working as a classroom assistant and supporting children to engage with their learning?

TeacherActive is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a classroom with an average ratio of 8 learners to 6 staff, supporting children of all ages, and diagnoses of Autism and Moderate Learning Disabilites. You will be working for a school that supports a range of complex learning needs, and may be required to adapt to challenging situations with young learners. A patient individual is needed, as relationships are a key focus for this setting.

TeacherActive are looking to take on SEN Teaching Assistants on a full-time, long-term basis, to work in this setting. A real nurturing environment, you will understand the importance and have experience supporting students with their EHCPs. If you have additional skills such as Team Teach or Makaton experience, that would be a great bonus (although not required for you to apply). 

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with ASD
• Confidence working within a classroom environment
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and willingness to get stuck in
