The Role

As a Graduate Maths Learning Mentor, you will support pupils across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and potentially A-Level Maths, helping them to improve attainment, build confidence, and develop a stronger understanding of mathematical concepts.

From leading intervention sessions to providing one-to-one support, you will play an important role within the Maths department and become a valued member of the school community from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted academic support across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level Maths
• Lead small-group and one-to-one intervention sessions
• Support students with numeracy, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning skills
• Help pupils prepare effectively for assessments, GCSEs, and A-Level examinations
• Reinforce key mathematical topics, including algebra, geometry, statistics, and number
• Collaborate closely with qualified Maths teachers to raise student attainment and confidence
• Support classroom learning and help maintain high levels of engagement

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• A minimum 2:1 degree in Maths, Engineering, Economics, Physics, or a closely related subject
• Strong mathematical knowledge and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
• An ambition to pursue a career in teaching or education

Desirable

• Previous tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or classroom-based experience
• Knowledge of the GCSE Maths curriculum
• Experience working with young people in an educational setting
