HGV Class 1 Driver – Birmingham
 
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a reputable logistics operation.
 
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.
 
Shifts
  • Days – Monday – Friday: start times between 03:00–06:00 
Rates of Pay:
  • £16.98 per hour (basic). 
  • £22.57 after 48 hours.

Day-to-Day Duties
 
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps
  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secured safely and correctly
  • Adhering to traffic laws, company procedures, and delivery schedules
Essential Skills
 
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
  • A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
  • A minimum of 2 year's Category CE driving experience
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
  • A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good spoken and written English
Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver
Training Provided
  • Driver assessment required prior to start
  • Industry-related training and ongoing support
