About Us: Milk Education is more than a supply partner; we are a dedicated community for educators across Greater Manchester. We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Oldham on a long-term basis starting this September. This English Teacher position is available on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

As an English Teacher joining this supportive Oldham secondary school, you will be part of an academic community that puts student progress and teacher wellbeing at the core of daily practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or Early Career English Teacher looking to establish themselves within a successful English department in Oldham.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 for secondary students in Oldham.

  • Differentiating curriculum content to engage learners of all abilities, including pupils with SEND and EAL requirements across Oldham classrooms.

  • Assessing student coursework and mock examinations in line with national curriculum standards, providing actionable feedback to drive GCSE attainment.

  • Maintaining a purposeful, positive classroom learning atmosphere through proactive behaviour management and strong student engagement.

  • Working collaboratively with department colleagues and school leadership across the Oldham secondary setting to support wider literacy initiatives.

Requirements or Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent secondary teaching qualification specialising in English.

  • Proven track record teaching English Language and Literature up to KS4 in UK secondary schools.

  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management strategies.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education practices for secondary pupils in Oldham.

  • Valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the specific requirements of the assignment.
