TeacherActive is proud to be working with an independent specialist day school in Frome for boys and girls aged 6 to 19 with high functioning autistic spectrum disorder and associated needs. The school provides different levels of support to help pupils thrive, with a strong focus on enabling young people to become self-reliant adults through support, structure and guidance.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a temporary, full-time basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with autism and associated needs, helping them to engage with their education, develop their independence and work towards their individual goals.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND

• An understanding of autism and associated additional needs

• The ability to provide consistent and structured support

• A patient, resilient and caring approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A positive and adaptable attitude
