Aspiring Primary Teacher

We’re recruiting Aspiring Primary Teachers to join welcoming Primary Schools across North Durham on a long- or short-term basis, starting in September.

You’ll be working in nurturing schools that value wellbeing, community and consistency, giving you the opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and gain valuable classroom experience.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support tailored to pupils’ learning needs
  • Support targeted interventions and catch-up sessions
  • Work alongside the class teacher to support lessons and adapt resources
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels valued and supported

Requirements & Skills:

  • Passion for working with children and supporting their learning
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Recent school or education experience (preferred)
  • Level 2/3 qualification in childcare, education or a related area, or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team
  • Must live locally in the North East – no relocation
