Milk Education Liverpool is seeking a committed and supportive Year 9 1:1 Support Assistant to work closely with a student who requires tailored academic and pastoral support across all curriculum subjects. This is a rewarding role where you will make a direct, positive impact on a young person’s progress and confidence.

About the Role

As a 1:1 Support Assistant for a Year 9 pupil, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualised support across all subjects, helping the student stay engaged and focused
  • Supporting with classwork, homework, revision and organisation
  • Breaking down tasks to suit individual learning needs
  • Helping to manage behaviour, motivation and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Tracking progress and identifying areas where additional support may be needed

This role is ideal for anyone passionate about supporting young people, including graduates, teaching assistants, youth workers, and aspiring teachers.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting young people (school, tutoring, mentoring or youth work)
  • Strong communication and patience to work 1:1
  • Ability to support learning across all subjects
  • Positive, proactive and compassionate approach
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
