We’re currently seeking a School Support Assistant to join a Primary School based in the North of Durham. This opportunity is great for professionals looking for some real experience in education – either to pursue alongside their studies or to get their foot into the world of teaching.

Support Assistant - Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting (preferred)
• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience (preferred)
• A real passion for working with children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning
• Understanding of additional needs and how to support them

Support Assistant - Main Responsibilities:

• Encouraging independence by helping pupils develop communication and self-management skills
• Supporting learners by providing one-to-one or small group assistance
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
• Maintaining safeguarding and confidentiality, following school policies
