We're currently recruiting for a Behaviour Buddy to work within welcoming and supportive Primary Schools, starting in September.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for graduates who are passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. As a Behaviour Buddy, you'll work closely with pupils who require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.

This role is particularly suited to graduates considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, social work, SEND support or pastoral care.

Your Main Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils who require additional behavioural or emotional support.

• Build positive and trusting relationships with children to encourage engagement and participation.

• Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience and positive coping strategies.

• Promote positive behaviour throughout the school day.

• Support children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH needs.

• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and improve classroom engagement.

• Work alongside teachers, SENDCOs and pastoral teams to implement behaviour support strategies.

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to school staff.

• Support social, emotional and mental wellbeing.

• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Ideal Background

We welcome applications from graduates who have completed one of the following degrees within the last five years:

• Psychology

• Criminology

• Childhood Studies

• Early Years Childhood Studies

• BA Education

• Primary Education

• MA Education

• MA Education (SEND and Inclusion)

• PGCE

• Other Education, Child Development or Social Science-related degrees

Requirements

• Degree obtained within the last five years.

• Professional employment references covering the last two years.

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• A calm, patient and resilient approach.

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is desirable.

• Understanding of behaviour management, SEMH, Autism or ADHD is advantageous.

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
