The Role – Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant

As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the Maths department to support students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and engagement in Mathematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group Maths intervention sessions
• Support classroom teachers during Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Help students develop confidence, problem-solving skills and numeracy understanding
• Assist with lesson preparation, classroom organisation and resource creation
• Provide tailored support for students requiring additional academic guidance
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement within lessons
• Gain exposure to teaching strategies, behaviour management and curriculum delivery

Ideal Candidate

• A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (2:1 or above preferred)
• Strong academic background and passion for education
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine aspiration to become a Maths Teacher
• Previous tutoring, mentoring or school-based experience is desirable but not essential
• Resilient, proactive and enthusiastic attitude
