We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate English Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, high-achieving secondary school in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent English graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching.

What's the role?

As an English Teaching Assistant, you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills. You'll work closely with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted support to students of varying abilities.

You will:

• Assist in the delivery of English lessons, including literature and language
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students
• Help students improve their writing, comprehension, and exam skills
• Support the preparation of lesson materials and classroom resources
• Encourage a love of reading and critical thinking

What are we looking for?

• A degree in English, Literature, Language, or a related subject (2:1or above)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive, patient, and supportive approach
• An interest in education or a future teaching career
• Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
