 Shopfloor Foreman

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary :£28,000.00 per annum

Role:
Our client is looking for an experienced Shopfloor Foreman to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in managing shopfloor operations, working with CNC machines, and overseeing employee activities. Strong leadership skills, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality, are essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed and actively monitor compliance on the shopfloor
  • Oversee inductions and competency assessments for new operatives
  • Take responsibility for new starter induction plans and deliver training on machinery use
  • Create and manage employee schedules and allocate tasks to team members
  • Serve as the first point of contact for operatives regarding machine issues, people management, absenteeism, and general queries
  • Review completed work to ensure quality standards are met and that all project deadlines are adhered to
  • Address any customer issues or complaints, ensuring a swift resolution
  • Supervise the repair, construction, and maintenance of equipment and machinery as necessary
  • Regularly inspect and clean equipment within the unit to ensure proper functioning
  • Operate shopfloor machinery, including forklifts and other production equipment
  • Ensure that the unit area is kept clean, organized, and free from hazardous materials

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Previous experience operating CNC machines is essential
  • Proven experience in a production environment would be advantageous
  • Valid Forklift Operator Licence
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in production and scheduling software
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
