A Leading UK-based engineering and design company is seeking an experienced professional to lead in the design, development, and coordination of low-voltage (LV) systems. With over a century of industry experience, the company serves a variety of sectors, including water, energy, pharmaceuticals, and food and beverage industries, delivering cutting-edge, value-driven engineering solutions.

Position Overview

The role involves managing multiple LV design projects, ensuring timely procurement, meeting technical standards, and upholding commercial performance targets. The successful candidate will mentor junior engineers, provide technical support, and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently. The individual will also participate in technical meetings and assist with the preparation of tenders and estimates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee LV design projects to meet timeline and budget goals.
  • Produce and validate LV design drawings and related technical documents.
  • Conduct technical reviews of designs, specifications, and project proposals.
  • Perform site surveys, including comprehensive analysis of in-service assemblies.
  • Support cross-functional project planning and technical standard development.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as an LV Design Engineer or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of power switchgear, industrial control systems, and key electrical standards (e.g., BS EN 61439-2, BS EN 60947).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation and MS Office suite.
  • HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or equivalent), with professional registration preferred.

Location

This role is based in the Warrington area, with travel to additional sites as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds relevant industry certifications and is either professionally registered or working toward it.
