Salary: £68.88–£95.76 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a passionate Primary Teacher with a strong background in Mathematics looking for a flexible part-time role?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Canvey Island, who are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Year 6 Teacher specialising in Maths to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teacher who enjoys delivering engaging Maths lessons and helping pupils build confidence ahead of their SATs.

The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Thursday afternoons, supporting Year 6 pupils with their mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills and overall academic progress.

The successful Year 6 Teacher will be expected to:

• Plan and deliver engaging Year 6 Maths lessons, following the KS2 National Curriculum.

• Support pupils in preparing for their Year 6 SATs assessments.

• Identify gaps in pupils' mathematical knowledge and provide targeted support.

• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.

• Build confidence in arithmetic, reasoning and problem-solving.

• Maintain positive classroom behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment.

• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

• Work collaboratively with other staff to support pupil attainment.

The ideal Year 6 Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.

• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and the KS2 curriculum.

• Experience preparing pupils for SATs assessments.

• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

• The ability to deliver engaging lessons adapted to different learning needs.

• A positive, patient and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

• Availability to work Monday to Thursday afternoons.
