Day-Cover SEMH Teacher (Wigan and the surrounding areas)

Forget standard supply. Teach where your patience, presence, and calmness actually counts.

💬 The Reality of the Role

Not every teaching day is about hitting national targets or standadised school KPI's, in a specialised SEMH environment, success looks different. It’s de-escalating, maintaining boundaries with unwavering empathy, and making a young person feel safe and secure.

We are seeking a day to day cover SEMH Teacher for specialised settings in and around Wigan. This isn't a desk-bound sitting role, it’s hands on, relationship driven daily cover for pupils with complex and diverse emotional needs.

⭐ Why This Stands Out

• 💰 Competitive Rate: £200 per day for your expertise, resilience, and specialised skills.

• 📚 Impact Over Admin: Step in, manage the classroom dynamic, build immediate rapport, and deliver impactful sessions without taking piles of marking home.

• 🤝 Specialised Environment: Work alongside a team that understands trauma informed practice and prioritises pupil well being.

✅ What You Bring to the Table

• 🎓 Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• 🛡️ Safety & Training: Active Team Teach certification (essential for handling high-anxiety and challenging behaviours safely and confidently).

• 🧩 Trauma Informed Expertise: Direct experience supporting children with SEMH and developmental trauma, meeting EHCP outcomes.

• ❤️ The Right Temperament: Unshakeable composure, clear boundaries, and a genuine belief that "behaviour is communication."
