£26 - £30/hour

Milk Alternative, part of Milk Education, is looking for experienced 1:1 Tutors to support secondary-aged pupils across Prescot and the surrounding areas.

You’ll provide personalised, 1:1 tuition to young people who may have SEND, SEMH, EBSA or other additional learning needs, helping them build confidence, re-engage with education and make meaningful progress.

Tuition may take place in the pupil’s home, school or a community setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons

  • Provide focused support across English, Maths and/or Science

  • Adapt your teaching approach to meet individual needs and learning styles

  • Build positive and trusting 1:1 relationships with pupils

  • Assess and monitor progress against agreed learning outcomes

  • Provide weekly feedback on pupil engagement and progress

  • Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures

Requirements and Skills

  • Qualified teacher or experienced tutor

  • Experience planning and delivering lessons aligned with the UK National Curriculum

  • Strong subject knowledge in English, Maths and/or Science

  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs

  • Patient, adaptable and confident working on a 1:1 basis

  • Reliable and able to travel to tuition settings where required

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

A recognised teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
