Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join a busy local waste and recycling operation in Ilkeston.

If you're looking for Monday-to-Friday day work, no nights and the opportunity to finish once your zone is complete, this could be a great opportunity.

Immediate starts are available.

Why you'll want this job

• £15.56 per hour

• Monday to Friday

• 6:30am starts

• Task & Finish – once your zone's work is completed, you're finished

• Paid for your full working day

• No night shifts

• No regular weekends

• Ongoing, year-round work – not just a seasonal position

• Opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate

The Role

You'll be working as part of a local authority waste collection team, providing an essential service to more than 50,000 households across the area.

Your day will involve driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on local residential routes, collecting:

• Household waste

• Recycling

• Garden waste

This is a hands-on driving role and you'll be part of the crew, not just sitting behind the wheel. You will be expected to get out of the cab and assist the loaders when required, helping the team complete the round safely and efficiently.

You'll be working Monday to Friday from 6:30am until the round is complete.

What we're looking for

To be considered, you'll need:

• A valid Category C / Class 2 HGV licence

• Valid Driver CPC

• Valid Digital Tachograph Card

• A reliable and hardworking attitude

• The ability to work well as part of a team

• Availability to start as soon as possible

Previous experience driving a refuse or waste collection vehicle would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
