Applications are invited from experienced Mental Health Healthcare Assistants, qualified to NVQ3 with a genuine committment to working with older people to join the comprehensive Mental Health service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
The Unit is a 8-bedded ward, dedicated to assessment of patients over 75 presenting with a wide range of mental health conditions.

Note;
Applicants must be a UK or Irish citizen, or UK permanent resident, no other UK visas permit employment in the Channel Islands and sponsorship is not offered.
Applicants must also have two years UK Mental Health experience in an Older Adult setting and hold a full UK NVQ3 in Adult Health & Social Care.

Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The current Guernsey Band 3 salary is £30,4341 to £35,627 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 40% evening/Saturday and 80% Sunday/BH.

The Older Adult Mental Health Service has a four in-patient centres; including an assessment ward through to the later stages of an individual’s experience of dementia, as well as Community Day Services.
They have recently launched their Island-wide Dementia Framework; striving to make the island Dementia Friendly so that their older population feel valued and are treated with the dignity and respect that they so rightly deserve.
All of this is reliant on the excellent calibre of Healthcare staff recruited to a very high standard.

Person requirements:
An experienced Mental Health, Healthcare Assistant
At least two years experience in an Acute Mental Health Ward setting
Completion of NVQ3 level in Adult Health & Social Care
Passionate about working with older people with acute mental health presentations.
The desire to work in a team and organisation committed to person-centred care and giving you time to care.
