TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision in Selly Oak supporting pupils of mixed ages with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The provision offers a structured and supportive environment for pupils who require an alternative approach to mainstream education.

The provision is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful Teaching Assistant will support pupils across mixed age groups, assist with learning and behaviour management, and must be comfortable providing personal care when required.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs

• Experience within an alternative provision or similar setting is desirable

• Confidence supporting challenging behaviour

• Willingness and confidence to provide personal care when required

• A resilient, patient and proactive approach
