Milk Education are recruiting EYFS SEN Support Assistants to work within welcoming and inclusive Primary Schools. This rewarding role involves supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to develop confidence, communication skills and independence within a nurturing Early Years environment.

About the Role

As an EYFS SEN Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEND.
  • Support pupils with Autism, Speech and Language needs, ADHD and other additional needs.
  • Assist with the delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities.
  • Encourage the development of communication, social and emotional skills.
  • Support children with transitions, routines and emotional regulation.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCOs and external professionals.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

About You

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children with SEND within a school, nursery or childcare setting.
  • Have a passion for supporting children's development and wellbeing.
  • Are patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships.
  • Have an understanding of EYFS and child development.
  • Can support children with varying communication and learning needs.
  • Are proactive, resilient and adaptable.
  • Hold, or are willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
