Milk Education is recruiting passionate Psychology Graduates to work in specialist SEN schools across Hartlepool. This is a fantastic full-time opportunity to develop your skills while supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs in a rewarding educational setting.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, supporting pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD & SLD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Sensory and physical needs

You will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, improve communication, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom.

Your Responsibilities

As a Psychology Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support
• Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs
• Encourage engagement and participation in lessons
• Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils
• Promote communication, social skills and independence
• Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

What We're Looking For

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy and resilience
• A proactive and positive attitude
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential. This could include mentoring, tutoring, youth work, coaching, care work or volunteering.
