The Role

The successful SENDCO will play a key role in overseeing and developing SEND provision across the school.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and coordinating SEND strategy and provision across the school.
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Ensuring EHCP targets and interventions are effectively implemented and reviewed.
  • Monitoring student progress and identifying appropriate support strategies.
  • Supporting staff with inclusive teaching approaches and SEND best practice.
  • Maintaining statutory compliance and accurate SEND documentation.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are keen to hear from:

  • Qualified SENDCOs who hold the NASENCO, NPQ for SENCOs, or an equivalent recognised SENDCO qualification.
  • Experienced SENDCOs seeking a rewarding new challenge within a specialist setting.
  • Professionals with a strong knowledge of SEND legislation, EHCP processes and inclusive educational practice.
  • Individuals passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs.
  • Collaborative and compassionate practitioners who build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Qualified teachers with substantial SEND experience who have already completed their SENDCO qualification and are looking to progress within a leadership role.

Please note: Holding a recognised SENDCO qualification is an essential requirement for this position.
