The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and highly skilled team at a recently refurbished 24-hour veterinary hospital in Dorset. This busy, multi-disciplinary hospital provides first opinion, emergency and referral-level care, creating an excellent caseload for a vet looking to further develop their medical and surgical skills.

The hospital provides out-of-hours services for several local practices, offering exposure to a varied and rewarding caseload. Alongside routine consultations and surgery, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on more advanced cases while being supported by certificate holders in cardiology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, dermatology, and emergency and critical care.

The practice is exceptionally well equipped, including an on-site CT scanner, laparoscopic surgery facilities, endoscopy, dental radiography, hydrotherapy and a dedicated in-house laboratory, allowing the team to provide an outstanding standard of patient care.

What They're Looking For

• MRCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Minimum of 2 years' UK small animal experience
• Confident with routine consultations and surgery
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Passionate about delivering high standards of veterinary medicine
• Keen to continue developing clinically within a supportive hospital environment

The Rota

The full-time role averages 39 hours per week, with a fair 1 in 6 weekend rota shared across the team. Part-time applications will also be considered, allowing flexibility while maintaining an excellent work-life balance.
