Turn Your Passion for Art into an Inspiring Teaching Career

Are you a recent Art graduate looking for more than just a job?

Would you like to train as a teacher while earning, receiving exceptional mentoring, and becoming part of a trust that is committed to developing the next generation of outstanding educators?

KPI Education is working in partnership with an ambitious and rapidly improving secondary school within a highly supportive multi-academy trust in South East London. The trust is seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and creative Art graduate to join the school as a Graduate Trainee Teacher, with a clear pathway towards gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

If you're planning to remain in South East London after university and are looking for a rewarding graduate opportunity with genuine career progression, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Opportunity

This is far more than a Graduate Teaching Assistant role.

You'll spend the academic year immersed in school life, developing your classroom practice alongside experienced teachers before progressing onto a fully supported teacher training programme within the trust.

You'll receive outstanding mentoring, structured professional development and the opportunity to build a long-term teaching career within a trust that invests heavily in its staff.

About the School

This welcoming secondary school is on an exciting improvement journey, with an ambitious leadership team committed to raising aspirations and delivering exceptional outcomes for its pupils.

The school serves a vibrant local community where students are enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn. Behaviour is not considered challenging, but staff are expected to provide clear routines, consistency and high expectations to help pupils thrive.

The successful graduate will become part of a collaborative staff team where hard work, creativity and commitment are recognised and rewarded.

The Role

Working alongside experienced teachers and department leaders, you will:

  • Support the delivery of engaging Art lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Develop your classroom practice through observation and supported teaching
  • Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions
  • Help inspire creativity and confidence in young people
  • Build positive relationships with pupils through consistency and high expectations
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and academy trust
  • Progress towards a fully supported teacher training programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for graduates who are:

  • Educated to degree level in Art, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration or a related creative subject
  • Planning to remain in South East London after graduating
  • Passionate about pursuing a career in teaching
  • Resilient, proactive and eager to learn
  • Able to build positive relationships with young people
  • Motivated by making a genuine difference within a school community
  • Excited by the opportunity to contribute to the school's wider enrichment programme

Graduates from Russell Group and other leading universities are particularly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Receive

  • Full-time graduate role from September
  • Clear route into fully supported teacher training and QTS
  • Outstanding mentoring from experienced teachers and senior leaders
  • Exceptional CPD and professional development
  • Opportunities to build a long-term teaching career within the trust
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment
  • The chance to make a genuine impact in a school on an exciting improvement journey

Why Apply?

The trust is committed to growing its own teachers and is looking for graduates who want to build a long-term career in education—not simply complete a placement before moving on.

If you're ambitious, resilient and ready to inspire the next generation through creativity, this could be the perfect first step into teaching.

Interviews Taking Place Immediately

The trust is interviewing now and is keen to appoint an outstanding graduate as soon as possible to begin preparing for September.
