A high-performing secondary school in Cambridge, part of a nationally recognised academy trust, is seeking a Trainee Teacher of Maths to join their team from September. This is a salaried, structured training programme designed to develop future outstanding Maths teachers.

You will be immersed in a dynamic Maths department, supporting pupils across KS3-KS5, including A-Level, while building the skills and confidence required to become a fully qualified teacher.

Key Responsibilities

Support high-quality Maths teaching across KS3-KS5
Deliver targeted GCSE and A-Level intervention (1:1 and small groups)
Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and curriculum delivery
Support pupils with problem-solving, exam technique, and attainment
Build strong relationships to promote engagement and progress
Gradually take responsibility for planning and delivering lessons

The Training Programme

Structured pathway to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by 2027
Weekly instructional coaching from experienced Maths practitioners
Subject-specific CPD within a STEM-focused environment
Exposure to high-level teaching practice and pedagogy
Clear progression into a permanent teaching role

We Are Looking For

A Maths or related degree (minimum 2:2)
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) - essential
A-Level Maths (strongly preferred)
A genuine passion for Maths and education
Strong communication skills and a confident, professional manner
A motivated and proactive attitude towards learning and development
