The Role – Graduate Learning Support Assistant

  • Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a variety of learning needs, helping them engage with their lessons and achieve their goals
  • Assist with behaviour management, helping pupils develop social and emotional skills
  • Support pupils during lessons, activities, and transitions, ensuring their full participation and inclusion
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement individualised support plans for each student
  • Help to create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional wellbeing
  • Support pupils with daily routines and personal care where necessary

Person Specification

  • A degree in Psychology, Education, Sociology, or a related field (essential)
  • Previous experience working with young people with SEN, SEMH, or autism (desirable but not essential)
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • A genuine passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential
