We are looking for a Team Lead Project Quality Manager to join our team at our Gronau, Germany site.

This is a critical role for a quality professional with solid project delivery experience and a technical background in engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or systems). You will lead a team of Quality Engineers, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards while embedding a culture of “Right First Time” across project lifecycles.

At Urenco, we are committed to providing you with opportunities to achieve your best. If you meet some, but not all of the qualifications, we still encourage you to apply. We believe in nurturing the passion and potential of our people and offer leading training and development programmes, along with the opportunity to be mentored by some of the brightest minds in the industry.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership: Report to the Technical Quality Programme Manager, providing regular updates on team performance and project status.
  • Team Development: Lead a team of Quality Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Promote Collaboration: Foster a collaborative and positive team environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Lead Quality Assurance and Control activities across multiple projects.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure that all project quality activities comply with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams across different sites.
  • Quality & Safety Culture: Promote quality and safety awareness, helping to develop a ‘Right First Time’ culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Audits & Corrective Actions: Participate in License Condition compliance audits (where applicable) and take corrective actions when necessary to maintain or improve compliance and best practice.
  • Documentation Review: Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents, providing timely and meaningful feedback to internal departments.
  • Supplier & Contractor Guidance: Review and advise on supplier and contractor documents as required.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with nuclear industry regulations, standards, and best practices, offering coaching to departments where necessary.
  • Performance Metrics: Implement quality metrics and performance indicators to monitor project progress and success.
  • Quality Framework Contribution: Contribute to the development of the Quality Framework for UTD.
  • Integrated Quality Management System: Contribute to and promote the introduction of new Integrated Quality Management System procedures, instructions, and forms for UTD.

What You Need to Thrive in This Role

  • Technical Background (Must-Have): Strong foundation in technical business processes, with proven expertise in one or more relevant engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, or systems engineering. This knowledge is essential for understanding complex project requirements and ensuring technical compliance across all quality-related activities.
  • Project Quality Expertise (Must-Have): Proven track record of managing and executing quality assurance activities across complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects, ideally within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Experienced Quality Manager: Proven experience in quality management, ideally within the nuclear field.
  • Leadership Expertise: Experience in leading quality programmes and managing teams of Quality Engineers.
  • Quality Plans Knowledge: Experience in working with Quality and Inspection Plans.
  • Certification Experience: Familiarity with certification processes.
  • Self-Motivated: A proactive individual with a strong drive to manage and complete assignments.
