Job Title: Senior Fire Engineer Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum Location: London A specialist fire and security contractor is seeking a Senior Fire Engineer to take a lead role in the commissioning and delivery of large-scale, networked addressable fire alarm systems. This is a key position within the engineering team, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and mentor junior engineers. Key Requirements (Essential): Comprehensive knowledge of BS 5839-1 and its application across complex systems Proven experience in commissioning large, networked addressable fire alarm systems Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to fault-find and resolve issues across multiple platforms Competence in conducting cause-and-effect testing, performing loop load calculations, and integrating with third-party systems Proficiency in using commissioning software tools and configuring control panels Confident communicator, capable of liaising with clients, consultants, and end-users Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing a small team and providing mentorship A proactive, solutions-focused attitude with a high level of personal initiative Solid reporting and documentation skills Comfortable attending client and site meetings to provide technical updates and guidance Level 3 qualification in fire detection and alarm systems Full UK driving licence Desirable Attributes: Experience in project management within fire or M&E disciplines Understanding of electronic security systems Familiarity with site-based health and safety procedures and ensuring ongoing compliance SSSTS or SMSTS certification Prior experience producing RAMS, project programmes, and commissioning plans Knowledge or experience of PAVA (Public Address and Voice Alarm) systems This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable and motivated engineer looking to take the next step in their career.
