TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of private day nurseries across Huddersfield. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated Early Years Nursery Assistants to provide flexible cover across a variety of nursery settings.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking for day-to-day supply work, with the flexibility to choose the days that suit their availability. Whether you are looking for full-time hours, part-time work or occasional shifts, we have opportunities to suit you.

There may also be opportunities for longer-term placements and permanent positions within the nurseries.

As an Early Years Nursery Assistant, you will be responsible for:

• Supporting children aged 0–5 years in their learning, development and daily routines

• Assisting qualified Nursery Practitioners with planning and delivering fun, engaging activities

• Encouraging children's development through creative play, storytelling and outdoor activities

• Supporting children with personal care, mealtimes and hygiene routines

• Helping to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment

• Building positive relationships with children, parents and nursery staff

• Following safeguarding procedures and nursery policies

• Adapting to different nursery environments and working effectively as part of a team

The successful Early Years Nursery Assistant will have:

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children in the UK

• Previous experience in a nursery, childcare, school or Early Years setting

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years (desirable but not essential)

• An understanding of the EYFS framework (desirable)

• A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development

• A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach

• The confidence to use their own initiative and adapt to different nursery environments

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• A reliable and flexible attitude towards work

You do not need to hold a formal childcare qualification to apply, provided you have the relevant experience working with children.
