Industrial Operative – Metal Cleaning & Treatment – Motherwell

People Solutions are currently recruiting for 2 x Industrial Operatives to join our well-established client based in Motherwell.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £14.00 per hour, Monday to Friday day shifts, no weekend working, full training and the potential to secure permanent employment.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an Industrial Operative, Metal Worker, Production Operative, Manufacturing Operative or Engineering Operative.

Shifts

 • Monday to Friday
 • 08:00 – 16:30
 • No weekend working

Rates of Pay

 • £14.00 per hour
 • Weekly pay

Day-to-Day Duties

As an Industrial Operative, your duties will include:

 • Loading and unloading metal components from lorries
 • Preparing metals for chemical cleaning and treatment
 • Assisting with acid treatment processes
 • Moving components using cranes and lifting equipment following training
 • Operating high-pressure jet-washing equipment
 • General cleaning, handling and preparation of metals
 • Following all health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

To be successful as an Industrial Operative, you will need:

 • Previous industrial, engineering, manufacturing or metalworking experience
 • A practical, hands-on approach to work
 • The ability to carry out physically demanding duties
 • A reliable attitude and strong work ethic
 • Confidence to use your own initiative and ask questions
 • Willingness to learn specialist processes
 • Good communication skills and awareness of health and safety

Desirable Experience

 • A driving licence and access to your own transport would be advantageous but are not essential

Training Provided

 • Full on-the-job training provided
 • Training on specialist equipment and cleaning processes
