SEN Teaching Assistant – Flexible Supply Work

Location: NG, Nottingham
Pay: £95–£105 per day
Contract: Flexible supply work

TeacherActive is looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to provide supply cover at a friendly primary school in the NG9 area.

The school promotes a positive, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued, listened to and encouraged to embrace new challenges. Staff work closely together to celebrate success, encourage responsible choices and help every child reach their potential.

The role will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small-group SEN support
• Helping pupils access lessons and the UK curriculum
• Supporting children’s emotional regulation and social development
• Adapting activities to meet individual learning needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom environment
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff
• Following safeguarding, health and safety, and allergy procedures

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with SEN
• Previous experience within a UK school or education setting
• A good understanding of the UK curriculum
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities
• Awareness of allergies and Benedict’s Law
• An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Two suitable references covering the last six months
