The Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Yard Person to join a growing team based at a depot near Wyboston, Bedfordshire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable individual who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is keen to develop their skills within the construction and equipment industry.

This is a varied role involving yard duties, equipment preparation, manual handling, cleaning and quality checking, as well as occasional installation work at sites across the UK.

Overtime is available, and there may be occasions where overnight stays are required when carrying out installations.

What You'll Be Doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Picking and packing both small and large items.
• Preparing equipment for hire and installation.
• Quality checking, cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Carrying out general yard duties and keeping the working area clean, organised and safe.
• Manual handling of equipment and materials.
• Loading and unloading products.
• Assisting with installations at customer sites across the UK.
• Liaising with customers and internal teams when required.
• Following all company health and safety procedures.
• Supporting the wider team with day-to-day depot operations.

About You

We are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who is physically fit, dependable and willing to learn.

Previous experience would be beneficial, particularly in areas such as:

• Timber and non-mechanical plant or equipment.
• Construction or civil engineering environments.
• Forklift operation or other machinery.
• Yard or warehouse operations.
• Installation work.

A full driving licence is required, while a 7.5-tonne licence and/or counterbalance forklift licence would be an advantage.

You should also be:

• Comfortable following instructions while also using your own initiative.
• Flexible with start and finish times.
• Willing to work occasional weekends when required.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physically capable of manual handling.
• Keen to learn and develop your construction and equipment knowledge.
