Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced Saw Operator to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the Walsall area.

THE ROLE

• Operate guillotine machines, automatic saws & table saw machinery to cut steel and metal sections to required lengths.

• Set the saw using job specifications, drawings and cutting lists.

• Load and position materials safely and accurately on the machine.

• Select the correct blade, cutting speed and machine settings for the material being processed.

• Measure materials before and after cutting to ensure correct dimensions.

• Carry out first-off and in-process checks to maintain quality.

• Monitor the saw during operation and make basic adjustments where required.

• Identify worn blades, machine faults or quality issues and report them.

• Safely handle and move metal sections using appropriate equipment.

• Label and organise finished materials ready for the next stage of production.

• Keep the work area clean, tidy and free from hazards.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience operating a saw within a steel, metal or manufacturing environment.

• Experience cutting steel sections, box section, tube or other metal products would be advantageous.

• Able to read cutting lists, drawings and basic measurements.

• Confident using tape measures, verniers and other measuring equipment.

• Good understanding of machine operation and safe working practices.

• Able to work accurately when producing multiple cuts to specific dimensions.

• Comfortable handling lengths of steel and other heavy materials.

• Reliable, practical and able to work as part of a busy production team.

• Good attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and safety.

HOURS OF WORK

Monday to Friday 06:00am – 14:00pm
