Salary: £90 - £100 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a secondary SEND setting in Ashington that supports students aged 11 - 18 with a range of additional educational needs, including Autism / ASD. The setting provides a supportive environment focused on helping students develop their confidence, independence and engagement with education.

The setting is looking to take on a SEND Teaching Assistant on a short to long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will work alongside teaching staff to provide individual and classroom support, encourage positive behaviour and engagement, and help students access learning according to their individual needs.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with Autism / ASD and additional educational needs
• Experience supporting secondary-aged students is desirable
• A patient and supportive approach
• Strong communication skills
• The ability to adapt support to individual student needs
• A positive, proactive and resilient attitude
