TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in Derby, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant. The school is committed to creating a welcoming environment where every child is supported to develop and achieve their potential.

The school is looking to take on a part-time Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from ASAP until July 2027, working mornings only from 8:30am to 12:30pm. The successful Teaching Assistant will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Key Stage 1 / KS1 pupil with autism / ASD and ADHD, helping them access learning, remain engaged and receive consistent support throughout the morning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly autism / ASD and ADHD
• Experience providing 1:1 support within an education setting
• An understanding of supporting pupils within Key Stage 1 / KS1
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to adapt support to meet the individual needs of the child
