KPI Education is working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Barnet that is seeking a dedicated Graduate Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain hands-on experience within a secondary school while developing valuable skills in learning support, behaviour management and inclusive education.

The Role

As a Graduate Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider inclusion team to support students with a range of learning needs.

You will provide individual and small-group support, helping students access the curriculum, build confidence and make positive academic and personal progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students.
  • Support pupils with additional learning needs and barriers to learning.
  • Work alongside teachers to help students access the curriculum.
  • Deliver or assist with literacy, numeracy and subject-specific interventions.
  • Support students with organisation, revision and independent learning.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive learning habits.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
  • Adapt support to meet individual student needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and the SENCO.
  • Assist with classroom activities, resources and learning tasks.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with students.
  • Support wider pastoral and inclusion initiatives across the school.

Candidate Profile

The ideal Graduate Learning Support Assistant will be:

  • Educated to degree level, with a 2:1 or above preferred.
  • Passionate about supporting young people and inclusive education.
  • Patient, empathetic and approachable.
  • Confident communicating with students and staff.
  • Organised, proactive and resilient.
  • Able to build positive relationships with secondary-age students.
  • Interested in developing a career in education, SEN, teaching or educational psychology.
  • Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, youth work, schools, sports or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
