A welcoming secondary school in Solihull is looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to use your mathematical knowledge every day while helping students build confidence, improve their understanding and achieve their academic goals.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside experienced Maths teachers, you'll provide additional support to students across the curriculum. You'll help pupils work through difficult topics, develop their problem-solving skills and become more confident in their mathematical abilities.

You'll work with students 1:1, in small groups and within the wider classroom, giving you valuable experience of different approaches to supporting learning.

Key responsibilities

As a Graduate Maths Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group Maths support
• Help students develop their understanding of key mathematical concepts
• Support pupils who need additional guidance or encouragement
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
• Encourage students to engage positively with Maths
• Help learners develop their reasoning, problem-solving and independent learning skills
• Build students' confidence and motivation
• Work collaboratively with Maths teachers and wider school staff
• Provide feedback on student progress when appropriate

Who are we looking for?

We're keen to hear from graduates with:

• A Mathematics or closely related degree, ideally at 2:1 or above
• Strong mathematical knowledge and the ability to explain concepts in an accessible way
• A genuine interest in working with young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, enthusiasm and a positive attitude
• Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable, but not essential)

School experience isn't essential. If you have strong subject knowledge, a natural ability to communicate and a genuine desire to help young people succeed, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
