Veterinary Surgeon – South Wales Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE Why Join?
The Opportunity An exciting opportunity is available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join an experienced and supportive small animal team across two established practices in South Wales. The role offers a varied caseload of first opinion consultations and routine surgery, with plenty of support from experienced Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. The team includes certificate holders in orthopaedics, ophthalmology and medicine, alongside several highly experienced vets, creating an excellent environment for professional development. The practices are ISFM Silver Cat Friendly Clinics, RCVS PSS GP practices and nurse training centres. They are well equipped with digital and dental X-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, lasers and well-equipped surgical theatres. The team actively encourages professional development and can support Veterinary Surgeons interested in developing clinical interests or working towards a postgraduate certificate. Located in South Wales, the practices offer easy access to Cardiff, Bristol and Newport, while also being surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to the Brecon Beacons National Park. What They're Looking For The ideal candidate will be a confident and motivated RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to providing high-quality patient and client care. Applicants should have experience in clinical practice and growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to learning and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are important. Working Pattern The full-time position is 36 hours per week over 4 days, with shifts between 8:30am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. There is a 1 in 7 Saturday morning rota, from 8:30am to 12pm, with no out-of-hours work.
