Head Chef – Monday to Friday – 65k – 37.5 hours per week

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen of a prestigious private members' club in London, with a focus on British cuisine and exceptional work-life balance.

The Role

We are seeking a Head Chef to lead an established kitchen team of 12 chefs at a prestigious private members' club in central London. British produce and cuisine are at the heart of the offer. The successful candidate will have full menu control, report directly to the Chief Executive, and sit on the senior leadership team. This role offers Monday to Friday working and 37.5 hours per week.

The Restaurant

• Prestigious private members' club in central London.
• 80 covers, 56 bedrooms, 4 event rooms.
• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner service (dinner busier than lunch).
• Partial Christmas closure.

The Head Chef Role

• Lead and inspire a high-performing kitchen team of 12 chefs.
• Full menu control – seasonal British cuisine.
• Drive consistency, food quality, and service standards.
• Manage GP, labour, and compliance targets.
• Mentor and develop the kitchen team.
• Write a quarterly feature for the club journal.
• Report directly to the CEO and sit on the senior leadership team.
• Ensure all statutory training (food safety, fire, first aid) is completed.
• Maintain and improve Food Alert ratings and overall compliance.

The Ideal Head Chef

• Proven Head Chef experience in British cuisine.
• Background in high-end fine dining, hotel, or club kitchens.
• Confident leader who can bring the team along.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Commercially aware with good financial acumen.
• Private members' club experience desirable but not essential.
• Right to work in the UK.
