Year 5 Teacher – Primary (Nottingham)

We’re currently recruiting for a Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September.

You’ll be joining a supportive and inclusive school that values high expectations, creativity and pupil wellbeing. This is a great opportunity for an experienced teacher or ECT looking to join a collaborative school community and make a real impact within Upper Key Stage 2.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Year 5 lessons across the National Curriculum
• Preparing pupils for the transition into Year 6
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to individual needs
• Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment
• Supporting pupils with different abilities and learning needs
• Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence
• Working closely with Teaching Assistants and the wider school team
• Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues

Requirements or Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent primary teaching experience, ideally within KS2
• Strong knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Passionate about helping pupils achieve their full potential

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
