Learning Support Assistant – Newcastle

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | September 2026 Start

Milk Education is working with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Newcastle to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This is a varied classroom-based role supporting pupils across the school and working alongside teachers to ensure children receive the support they need to succeed.

The Role

• Support pupils during lessons and independent learning activities
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and preparation
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation
• Help pupils develop confidence and independence
• Support children with a range of abilities and learning needs

About You

• Previous experience working with children is desirable
• Experience in a school, nursery, childcare or youth setting would be beneficial
• Reliable, enthusiastic and adaptable
• Able to build positive relationships with children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Committed to creating a positive learning environment
