SEN Teaching Assistant – Haringey

Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children with additional needs access education, develop confidence and reach their full potential.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team to provide tailored support for pupils across the primary age range. The school is committed to ensuring every child is valued and supported through a nurturing, inclusive environment that promotes independence, achievement and personal growth.

The Role:

  • Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of additional needs
  • Providing 1:1 support and delivering small-group interventions
  • Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties
  • Assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum through adapted resources and targeted support
  • Supporting the delivery of EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals and families
  • Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker
  • Experience supporting children with SEND within a school, nursery or care setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, nurturing and resilient approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning

Essential Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last two years
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people
